Q7 / 103 · NTA Abhyas (NEET) 2020 · Physics · Motion In One Dimension

The relation between time t and distance x is t=ax2+bx where a and b are constants. The acceleration is

  • A
    −2abv2
  • B
    2bv3
  • Correct answer
    C
    −2av3
  • D
    2av2

Solution

         t=ax2+bx

        dtdx=2ax+b

or    dxdt=(2ax+b)−1

or    v=(2ax+b)−1

Acceleration=dvdt

                      =dvdx·dxdt

                      =(−1)(2ax+b)−2(2a)(2ax+b)−1

                      =−2a(2ax+b)−3=−2av3

Hence, the correct answer is option: 'C'.
