Q9 / 160 · TS EAMCET 2022 (18 Jul Shift 1) · Chemistry

The amount of 50%w/w solution of hydrochloric acid required to react with 200 g of CaCO3 would be

  • A
    73g
  • Correct answer
    B
    292 g
  • C
    146 g
  • D
    100 g

Solution

Reaction would be

CaCO3 + 2 HCl → CaCl2 + CO2 + H2O

Equivalent of HCl= Equivalent of CaCO3

Thus, w36.5=20050

∴  w=146 gHCl

Given w/w of solution = 50%

ww = weight of soluteweight of solution×10050 = 146Weight of solution×100Weight of solution =292 g

Hence, the correct answer is option: 'B'.
