In the given circuit, a charge of $+80 \mu \mathrm{C}$ is given to upper plate of a $4 \mu \mathrm{F}$ capacitor. At steady state, the charge on the upper plate of the $3 \mu \mathrm{F}$ capacitor is

- A$60 \mu \mathrm{C}$
- Correct answerB$48 \mu \mathrm{C}$
- C$80 \mu \mathrm{C}$
- D$0 \mu \mathrm{C}$
Solution
The net charge on upper plates both capacitor $(2 \mu \mathrm{F}$ and $3 \mu \mathrm{F}$ ) will be $+80 \mu \mathrm{C}$, so charge on upper plate of $3 \mu \mathrm{C}$ capacitor will be
$$
\begin{aligned}
& q=\left(\frac{3}{3+2}\right)(80 \mu \mathrm{C}) \\
& q=\frac{3}{5} \times 80=48 \mu \mathrm{C}
\end{aligned}
$$
Hence, the correct answer is option: 'B'.
