In the circuit shown below, the ammeter and the voltmeter readings are \( 3 \mathrm{~A} \) and \( 6 \mathrm{~V} \)
respectively. Then the value of the resistance \( R \) is

respectively. Then the value of the resistance \( R \) is

- A- \( 2 \Omega \)
- B\(R > 2 \Omega \)
- Correct answerC\(R < 2 \Omega \)
- D$2 \Omega$
Solution
Given, voltmeter reading \( =6 \mathrm{~V} \); ammeter reading \( =3 \mathrm{~A} \)
Using ohm's law, \( V=I R ; R=\frac{V}{I} \Rightarrow R=\frac{6}{3}=2 \Omega \)
This will be the case when ideal ammeter and voltmeter are used. Therefore, the value of resistance \( \mathrm{R} \) is less than \( 2 \Omega \),
that is \( R < 2 \Omega \)
Using ohm's law, \( V=I R ; R=\frac{V}{I} \Rightarrow R=\frac{6}{3}=2 \Omega \)
This will be the case when ideal ammeter and voltmeter are used. Therefore, the value of resistance \( \mathrm{R} \) is less than \( 2 \Omega \),
that is \( R < 2 \Omega \)
Hence, the correct answer is option: 'C'.
