Q8 / 117 · NTA Abhyas (NEET) 2020 · Physics · Alternating Current

In a series LCR circuit, resistance R=10 Ω and the impedance Z=10 Ω. The phase difference between the current and the voltage is

  • Correct answer
    A
    0°
  • B
    30°
  • C
    45°
  • D
    60°

Solution

Impedance,

         Z=R2+XL-XC2

∴     10=(102+XL-XC2

⇒  100=100+XL-XC2

⇒       XL-XC=0 ...(i)

Let ϕ is the phase difference between current and voltage

tan⁡ϕ=XL-XCR

∴ tan⁡ϕ=0R   [From Eq.(i)]

⇒ ϕ=0°

Hence, the correct answer is option: 'A'.
