Solution

According to the International Union of Biochemistry (IUB) system of enzyme nomenclature, the name of an enzyme generally consists of two parts.

The first part of the name indicates the nature of the substrate upon which the enzyme acts.

The second part of the name indicates the type of reaction catalysed by the enzyme, usually ending with the suffix '-ase'.

Therefore, both Statement - I and Statement - II are correct.

Answer: Both statement - I and statement - II are correct.

Hence, the correct answer is option: 'A'.
