Which one of the following has maximum number of atoms of oxygen?
- A$2 \mathrm{~g}$ of carbon monoxide
- B$2 \mathrm{~g}$ of carbon dioxide
- C$2 \mathrm{~g}$ of sulphur dioxide
- Correct answerD$2 \mathrm{~g}$ of water
Solution
Number of oxygen atom in $2 \mathrm{~g}$ of $\mathrm{CO}$
$$
=\frac{2}{28} \times 6.022 \times 10^{23} \times 1
$$
Number of oxygen atom in $2 \mathrm{~g}$ of $\mathrm{CO}_{2}$
$$
=\frac{2}{44} \times 6.022 \times 10^{23} \times 2
$$
Number of oxygen atom in $2 \mathrm{~g}$ of $\mathrm{SO}_{2}$
$$
=\frac{2}{64} \times 6.022 \times 10^{23} \times 2
$$
Number of oxygen atom in $2 \mathrm{~g}$ of $\mathrm{H}_{2} \mathrm{O}$
$$
=\frac{2}{18} \times 6.022 \times 10^{23} \times 1
$$
Hence, $2 \mathrm{~g}$ of $\mathrm{H}_{2} \mathrm{O}$ has maximum number of atoms of oxyen.
Hence, the correct answer is option: 'D'.
