Which one gives the most valid and recent explanation for stomatal movements?

The most recent & valid explanation of stomatal movements is given by potassium influx & efflux/potassium ion pump theory which is also as the modern theory. The theory was given by Levitt in 1974. This theory states that the accumulation K+ ions leads to opening of stomata during the day while the reverse situation prevails during dark when the stomata are closed.
