Which of the following is a partial fraction of -x2+6x+13(3x+5)x2+4x+4=

  • A
    33x+5+−1x+2+2(x+2)2
  • Correct answer
    B
    23x+5+−1x+2+3(x+2)2
  • C
    −13x+5+2x+2+3(x+2)2
  • D
    33x+5+2x+2+−1(x+2)2

Solution

Given, -x2+6x+13(3x+5)x2+4x+4

=-x2+6x+13(3x+5)x+22

Using Partial fraction rules, we get

-x2+6x+13(3x+5)x+22=A3x+5+Bx+2+Cx+22

⇒-x2+6x+13=Ax+22+Bx+23x+5+C3x+5

Putting x=-2, we get C=3

Putting x=-53, we get A=2

and on comparing coefficients of x2, we get

B=-1

i.e. -x2+6x+13(3x+5)x+22=23x+5-1x+2+3x+22

Hence, the correct answer is option: 'B'.
