What is the value of intercept on y-axis when $\log \frac{x}{m}$ is plotted against lop P in Freundlich isotherm?

  • A
    $\frac{1}{\mathrm{n}}$
  • Correct answer
    B
    $\log \mathrm{k}$
  • C
    $\mathrm{n}$
  • D
    $\mathrm{k}$

Solution

Freundlich isotherm, $$ \frac{\mathrm{x}}{\mathrm{m}}=\mathrm{kp}^{\frac{1}{\mathrm{n}}} $$ Taking log, $$ \begin{aligned} & \log \frac{x}{m}=\log k+\frac{1}{n} \log P \\ & y=C+m x \end{aligned} $$ Intercept $=\operatorname{logk}$ $$ \text { Slope }=\frac{1}{\mathrm{n}} $$

Hence, the correct answer is option: 'B'.
