$\int_0^{\pi / 2} \frac{1}{1+\sqrt{\tan x}} d x=$
- A0
- B$\frac{\pi}{2}$
- C$\frac{\pi}{3}$
- Correct answerD$\frac{\pi}{4}$
Solution
$\mathrm{I}=\int_0^{\frac{\pi}{2}} \frac{1}{1+\sqrt{\tan x}} d x$ $\qquad ....\mathrm{(i)}$
$I=\int_0^{\frac{\pi}{2}} \frac{1}{1+\sqrt{\tan \left(\frac{\pi}{2}-x\right)}} d x$
$\mathrm{I}=\int_0^{\frac{\pi}{2}} \frac{1}{1+\sqrt{\cot x}} d x=\int_0^{\frac{\pi}{2}} \frac{\sqrt{\tan x}}{1+\sqrt{\tan x}} d x$ $\qquad ....\mathrm{(ii)}$
Adding (i) and (ii) $2 \mathrm{I}=\int_0^{\frac{\pi}{2}} \frac{1+\sqrt{\tan x}}{1+\sqrt{\tan x}} d x=\frac{\pi}{2} \Rightarrow \mathrm{I}=\frac{\pi}{4}$
Adding (i) and (ii) $2 \mathrm{I}=\int_0^{\frac{\pi}{2}} \frac{1+\sqrt{\tan x}}{1+\sqrt{\tan x}} d x=\frac{\pi}{2} \Rightarrow \mathrm{I}=\frac{\pi}{4}$
Hence, the correct answer is option: 'D'.
