The major products obtained in the following reaction is/are

- Correct answerA

- B

- C

- Correct answerD

Solution
The major product $($ s) obtained in the given reaction are
The mechanism for the above given reaction is as follows. When the $\pi$ -electrons of the alkene approach a molecule of $\mathrm{Br}_{2}$, one of the bromine atom accepts them and releases the shared electrons to the other
bromine atom. A cyclic bromonium ion is formed.
In next step $\mathrm{Br}^{-}$ attacks a carbon atom of the bromonium ion. This release the strain in the three membered ring and form a vicinal dibromide.
