Q2 / 220 · NTA Abhyas (NEET) 2020 · Chemistry · Ionic Equilibrium

Solubility product Ksp of saturated PbCl2 in water is 1.8×10-4mol3 dm-9. What is the concentration of Pb2+ in the solution?

  • Correct answer
    A
    0.45×10-413 mol dm-3
  • B
    1.8×10-413 mol dm-3
  • C
    0.9×10-413 mol dm-3
  • D
    2.0×10-413 mol dm-3

Solution

For the reaction of the AB2 i.e. PbCl2

Ksp=4s3

Or, S=Ksp413

Given, Ksp=1.8×10-4mol3dm-9

∴ Solubility of Pb+2 ions will be

∴   S=1.8×10-4413

=0.45×10-413 mol. dm-3

Hence, the correct answer is option: 'A'.
