Q48 / 90 · JEE Main 2024 (31 Jan Shift 1) · Mathematics

Let gx be a linear function and fx=gx,x≤01+x2+x1x,x>0, is continuous at x=0. If f'1=f−1, then the value of g3 is

  • A
    13loge49e13
  • B
    13loge49+1
  • C
    loge49−1
  • Correct answer
    D
    loge49e13

Solution

Let, gx=ax+b

Now function fx in continuous at x=0

⇒limx→0+fx=f0

⇒limx→01+x2+x1x=b

⇒0=b

⇒gx=ax

Now, for x>0

fx=1+x2+x1x

⇒logfx=log1+x2+x1x

⇒logfx=log1+x-log2+xx

⇒1fx×f'x=x11+x-12+x-log1+x-log2+xx2

⇒f'x=fxx11+x-12+x-log1+x-log2+xx2

⇒f'1=f112-13-log2-log312

⇒f'1=2316-log23

And, f−1=g−1=−a

⇒a=23log23−19

Now,  finding g3=3a+0

⇒g3=2log23−13

⇒g3=log49⋅e13

Hence, the correct answer is option: 'D'.
