If x2+5x+7(x-3)3=A(x-3)+B(x-3)2+C(x-3)3 , then 9A-3B+C=

  • A
    2
  • B
    5
  • Correct answer
    C
    7
  • D
    9

Solution

Given, x2+5x+7(x-3)3=A(x-3)+B(x-3)2+C(x-3)3

x2+5x+7(x-3)3=A(x-3)2+B(x-3)+C(x-3)2

x2+5x+7=A(x-3)2+B(x-3)+C

Put x=3

9+15+7=A(0)+B(0)+C⇒c=31

x2+5x+7=A(x2-6x+4)+B(x-3)+C

x2+5x+7=Ax2+(B-6)x+9A-3B+C

Comparing x1, x2 coefficients & constant coefficients

A=1, B-6=5            B=11

⇒9(1)-3(11)+31

⇒9-33+31=7.

Hence, the correct answer is option: 'C'.
