If the solution curve of the differential equation dydx=x+y-2x-y passes through the point 2,1 and k+1,2,k>0, then

  • Correct answer
    A
    2tan-11k=logek2+1
  • B
    tan-11k=logek2+1
  • C
    2tan-11k+1=logek2+2k+2
  • D
    2tan-11k=logek2+1k2

Solution

Given,

dydx=x+y-2x-y=x-1+y-1x-1-y-1

Now let x-1=X,y-1=Y

So, dydx=X+YX-Y ........1

Now let Y=VX dYdX=V+XdVdX

Putting the value in equation 1 we get,

V+XdVdX=1+V1-V

⇒XdVdX=V2+11-V

⇒∫1-V1+V2dV=∫dXX

⇒∫dV1+V2-12∫2VdV1+V2=∫dXX

⇒tan-1V-12ln1+V2=lnX+c

⇒tan-1YX-12ln1+Y2X2=lnX+c

⇒tan-1y-1x-1-12ln1+y-12x-12=lnx-1+c

Now given curve passes through 2,1

So, 0-12ln1=ln1+c⇒c=0

Now given curve also passes through k+1,2

So, tan-11k-12In1+1k2=lnk

⇒2tan-11k=In1+k2k2+2lnk

⇒2tan-11k=In1+k2

Hence, the correct answer is option: 'A'.
