Q102 / 160 · AP EAMCET 2019 (21 Apr Shift 2) · Mathematics

If α=limx→0x·2x-x1-cosx and β=limx→0x·2x-x1+x2-1-x2, then

  • A
    α=5β
  • Correct answer
    B
    α=2β
  • C
    β=2α2
  • D
    β=16α

Solution

It is given that, α=limx→0x·2x-x1-cosx

Apply L hospital rule, a=limx→02x+x·2xlog2-1sinx

Again, apply L hospital rule,

α=limx→02xlog2+2xlog2+x·2x(log2)2cosx

α=log2+log2

α=2log2 …i

Now

β=limx→0x·2x-x1+x2-1-x2

Apply L hospital rule,

β=limx→02x+x·2xlog2-1x1+x2+x1-x2

Again, apply L hospital rule,

β=limx→02xlog2+2xlog2+x·2x(log2)21+x2-x21+x21+x2+1-x2+x21-x21-x2

β=2log22=log2 …ii

From equation (i) and (ii),

α=2β

Hence, the correct answer is option: 'B'.
