Q41 / 90 · JEE Main 2014 (06 Apr) · Mathematics

If g is the inverse of a function f and f'x=11+x5, then g'x is equal to

  • A
    11+gx5
  • Correct answer
    B
    1+gx5
  • C
    1+x5
  • D
    5x4

Solution

g is the inverse of f i.e.  gx=f-1x

⇒fgx=x

Differentiating both the sides w.r.t x , we get

f'gx.g'x=1

⇒g'x=1f'gxas  f'x=11+x5

⇒g'x=111+gx5

g'x=1+gx5

Hence, the correct answer is option: 'B'.
