- Correct answerDa-secondary, b-effector cells, c-breastbone, d-erythrocytes
Solution
Lymphoid organs can be primary or secondary. Primary organs are those organs that form and mature the lymphocytes. These are bone marrow and thymus. Bone marrow forms B and T lymphocytes while thymus helps in maturing T lymphocytes.Secondary organs provide the sites for interaction of formed lymphocytes and thus these form effector cells. These organs are spleen, lymph nodes, peyer's patches etc. Thymus is also known as 'throne of immunity' and is located in the chest region located near the heart and beneath the breastbone. Spleen is known as the graveyard of red blood cells and thus is a reservoir of it.
Hence, the correct answer is option: 'D'.
