A closed vessel explodes at $15 \mathrm{~atm}$ pressure. If temperature of the vessel is $300 \mathrm{~K}$ at $10 \mathrm{~atm}$ pressure then find at what temperature will vessel explodes

  • A
    $250 \mathrm{~K}$
  • B
    $420 \mathrm{~K}$
  • C
    $200 \mathrm{~K}$
  • Correct answer
    D
    $450 \mathrm{~K}$

Solution

For a closed vessel, $\begin{aligned} & \frac{P_1}{T_1}=\frac{P_2}{T_2} \Rightarrow \frac{10}{300}=\frac{15}{T_2} \\ & T_2=450 \mathrm{~K}\end{aligned}$

Hence, the correct answer is option: 'D'.
